WE REPENT

A Call to Prayer and Repentance

(Pastor Mark led us in this prayer at the conclusion of the message on Sunday, February 4.)

“Oh Lord, We Repent!”

Nehemiah 5:1-13

Father, forgive us for disobeying Your word…for making what we do at church more important than following You as a church. Forgive us for making our activities our idols. Restore our joy that comes when You alone are Lord of our lives. We repent. And God’s people said, “Oh Lord, we repent!”

Father, forgive us for succumbing to the culture…in all we think we must have. Forgive us of indebtedness and not living generously with what You’ve given us. Restore to us the delight of being stewards with our lives and resources. We repent. And God’s people said, “Oh Lord, we repent!”

Oh God our King, we repent of fearing discomfort more than You, others’ opinions of us more than You, and the unknown more than You. Forgive us when we have sinned because we feared circumstances more than You. Restore our awe, trust, and fear of You. We repent. And God’s people said, “Oh Lord, we repent!”

Father, forgive me for focusing on others’ sins while being blinded to my own. Forgive me for separating myself from Your bride…for not seeing others’ sin as our sin as a body, and my sin as a part of Your bride. Help me love Your bride with Your faithful, sacrificial love. We repent. And God’s people said, “Oh Lord, we repent!”
