Throughout Scripture, we see God using prayer to align the hearts of His people to His heart. We see Him extending His invitation to join with Him in His work and His mission as we pray. We are excited about what God is going to do as we, His people, pray!

I am grateful to Austin Aker for putting this guide together. It is meant to be a simple outline for you to use as you pray throughout each week. It is an opportunity for us as a body to join our hearts together in one voice through prayer. Take a few minutes to read the introduction for the week, then pray throughout the week as the guide directs. Whether you pray every prayer point in one day, or pray every prayer point every day, or break them up into your regular prayer times throughout the week, the point is that you pray! Pray individually, gather a group, or pray together in your community group.

We are eager to see how God will align your heart and every heart at Grove when we pray according to His desires and will. Encourage everyone you know as a part of Grove to join in this prayer effort. For those of you on social media, use the hashtag “#Pray10” and share the posts that will be made available on Grove’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Ultimately, we want the name of Jesus to be glorified among every generation and every nation! In order for that vision (God’s vision) to become reality, we all need to pray, seeking God’s leadership. I can’t wait to see what God will do!

“Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. AMEN. Matthew 6:9-13

Amen.  We say it after every prayer.  We sometimes say it when the pastor is preaching, and we say “Amen” when someone says something we agree with. But, what does it actually mean?  The word “Amen” comes from a Hebrew word meaning firm, steady, trustworthy, faithful, and true.  When we pray and end with “Amen” we are saying that we agree these things are true.

Pray these things with the body and end each one with “Amen” as you agree with God’s Word and His desire for you and the body Christ at Grove…

Pray this with the body…

Father, You have called me and every member at Grove to be faithful to Your mission of following Jesus to transform generations and nations. You bring transformation through the gospel.  You have called me and our church, as we go in Your authority, to make disciples through sharing Your gospel and teaching them everything You have commanded.  (Matthew 28:18-20)

Father, You have created me to ENCOUNTER You in worship by laying my whole life down as a living sacrifice, for this is my spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1) This means that my life is not my own but is Yours. I am called to die to myself to magnify Your name.
I am called to pick up my cross daily and follow Your Son Jesus. (Luke 9:23-24)

Father, I believe You have shown us in Your Word that You intend each believer to live in community with others who follow Jesus. (Acts 2:42-47) It is in community around Your Word that we DISCOVER life in Jesus Christ and we minister (Ephesians 4:16, 1 Timothy 3:16-17, Ephesians 3: 14-21, 1 Peter 4:10-11)

Father, I agree that You have called me to follow Your example and to EXPERIENCE adventure in service as I worship You. I am not only called to serve Your body, the church alone, but Your Word says that I am to serve others so that they may experience Your love through the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:5, Mark 10:45)

Father, I submit to Your call on our church, for every believer, to follow Jesus to transform generations and nations as You use us to make disciples.  We are ready to follow You by the power of Your Holy Spirit.  Show us Your vision for Grove to intentionally plant new churches in Richmond and beyond.  Show us Your vison for our church to serve our community, nation, and world where Your gospel has not taken root.  Show us Your vision to train every believer to engage in Your mission and lead others to do the same.  We are ready to submit to whatever Your vision requires. The answer to Your call on us is  “Yes.”  Grant that we will be obedient to Your word.    Amen!
