What is a “Group”?
Jesus defined a “group” in Matthew 18:20 when he said, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Throughout the Grove Family, there are many groups and gatherings defined simply as people coming together in Jesus’ name. On a personal level, it can be a mentoring relationship or a venue in which to provide encouragement. On a group level, it can be a Bible study or a community project. In every case, it should be about sharing our life with fellow believers as encouragement, and to the unbeliever as a witness of our faith.
Groups and gatherings take place in traditional settings such as Sunday School classes, or less traditional locations such as in homes, restaurants or even in coffee shops.
Large groups can come together for a worship experience such as in the services at Grove; small groups can gather around television sets or connect to our services by internet.
In every case, sincere prayer and worship are fundamental.
At Grove, we are working to provide purpose to groups and gatherings and to help develop leaders for groups and gatherings here at Grove and throughout the Richmond Metro Area.
